The Stan Smith, named after Stan Smith, America's national tennis player, has long been loved for its simplicity since its debut in the early 1970s. While the familiar thin cupsole and perforated three stripes are in keeping with the original, the upper of this special-order model has been updated in high-quality leather. In addition, gold bullet tips are used on the tips of the laces. The model name is embroidered on the side of the body, and the tan, heel patch, and insole all have a subtle gold color scheme that adds a touch of elegance. A special-order set-up that goes well with the new model is also scheduled for release.

I have always loved "Stan Smiths" because of my love of sneakers, so I have a deep attachment to them. I liked the Boost sole model, which has been discontinued, for its comfortable feel and sophisticated design, and I wore them a lot. I would love to see them reissued again if possible. Or maybe all-black, since I'm in the mood for black sneakers these days."
What did you think of the custom-made "Stan Smiths" that you wore this time?
As soon as I put them on, I could feel the softness of the leather material, and they were very easy to wear. They are a pair for adults. The design is also elegant, with a basic white base color and gold accents that give it a moderately elegant look.
Uno-san, could you tell us what you are wearing today?
When I wear sneakers, I usually pair high-tech models with sporty clothes, and I think low-tech sneakers like Stan Smiths go well with casual outfits. Because of my taste, I used vintage clothing for everything except the sneakers this time. The fact that the sneakers don't give off an earthy impression is proof that they exude a clean atmosphere, and secondhand clothes are special to me because of my devotion to the 90's backstage culture.

What kind of impression do you have of "Stan Smiths"?
My debut of "Stan Smiths" was last year, later than other people around me. Of course I knew they existed, but I had avoided them because I thought they might not fit my style. Then I entered my 40s and started looking for elements that would cover up my age. Usually, I think it's a fresh accent created by adding color or a pattern, but for me, it was the clean Stan Smiths.
How did you feel when you tried on this special-order model?
My first impression was that it was a product that discerning adults would like, with subtle details and quality differences. The white base gives a clean impression, but the thoughtful details, such as the gold trim and high-quality leather, are likely to appeal to people in the fashion industry as well.
By the way, since this is a special order with EDIFITH, were there any points that you felt were unique to both of them?
Edifice' is a select store that seems ordinary at first glance, but values a little bit of attention to detail. I could feel that sense from the special-order models, and I felt that it was connected to the affinity between the two and the quality of the products.
