Four creators bring out the new charm of the updated Converse.

Converse, home to many classic sneakers, has introduced a fascinating lineup this season. The focus is on the collection line that has been developed since 2013, which pursues the good old American vintage taste that is the starting point of the brand, as well as new models that incorporate the skate scene and modern trends. Four creators active in various fields styled the collection in their own ways, bringing out the new appeal of Converse, a perennial staple of the brand.

What is your impression of the "Converse" brand?

The brand has a strong image of being synonymous with canvas sneakers. The brand's background encompasses a variety of cultures, including vintage and sports, and it is loved by many people.

What models of "Converse" have you worn in the past? If possible, please tell us about them with a brief episode.

I think they are "All Star" shoes. I have been wearing them since junior high school, and I still remember Paul Walker wearing them in the "Wild Speed" movie series. I liked the fact that he dared to wear flat-soled canvas sneakers instead of driving shoes because they looked fresh and street racer-like.

How was the comfort of the model you actually chose?

I have several pairs of vintage American-made models from the 1990s, but my feet often hurt after wearing them all day. On the other hand, the model I wore this time has excellent cushioning because it uses a urethane insole, so there seems to be no stress even if I wear them all day long.

. What are your impressions of the design as well?

The knee-high type design, which is not seen very often these days, is fresh. For women, it looks good to wear them like boots without folding them up, and for men, I recommend folding them back up and matching them with eighth-length pants. The striped pattern when folded back is a nice accent.

. What is the point of today's outfit?

The outfit of the day is my formal attire as a stylist, so I call it "The Uniform Style". Lately, I have been trying to create a styling that shows a glimpse of my personal side with an atmosphere similar to that of work clothes. I also chose ripped pants that go well with the sneakers I wore this time. If the hem is too wide, the high-cut part will be hidden. When wearing sneakers, the choice of pants is also important.

ALL STAR US KNEE-HI ¥8,500+TAX(black, ,white)
Based on the "knee-high" archive model that gained popularity among young people in the 1980s, this model incorporates details of the "U.S. ORIGINATOR" that pursues a dead-stock atmosphere by applying a glazed finish to the toe and rubber parts and adopting cotton shoelaces. The design is a highlight that can be worn as long-length sneakers as they are, or folded back using the snap buttons on the upper. Two colors are available: black, which can be worn like boots, and white, which is accented with the colorful stripes seen on the models of the time.
