There is a trick in the urban simple monotone coordinate.

Outerwear: Jack Wolfskin , Innerwear: Crepuscule , Pants: Jil Sander , Shoes: New Balance , Cap: No Brand
Various outerwear is available from "Jack Wolfskin" (JW).
Teshima:When I thought about wearing this coat in the city, I thought it would be the easiest to use. The minimalistic, urban style without unnecessary decorations caught my attention. In a good way, this coat overturned my image of JW.
What was the brand image of JW in your mind?
Teshima:It is an outdoor brand with a strong, solid image. For our generation, the image of this brand is completely that of a mountain climbing brand. It is a tough and rugged brand that can be used for mountain climbing and trekking. So, the gap between this urban coat and the other was quite shocking.
- How did you dress for the discrepancy between your image of JW and the actual items?
Teshima:In styling the product, I first threw away my preconceived notions about the brand (laughs). Along with the shocking appearance, another thing that struck me was the "lightness" of the garment when I held it in my hand. At a quick glance, it literally looks like heavy clothing, but in any case, it is very light. Lightness or heaviness is surprisingly important when using it as street clothes. I wanted to express this lightness, so I was careful to use coordinated colors.

I was impressed by the monotone color scheme.
Teshima:Yes . But I am conscious of the gradation of the entire coordination. However, it's not that complicated. The jacket and cap are dark gray. The top and shoes are light gray. The pants are white. I used three different colors for the shades. If you simply use black and white monotone, the outerwear will look heavy, but with this color combination, you can make it look light.
Do you have any key items other than outerwear?
Teshima:Pants. . Styling is determined by the pants. The outerwear for this project has an urban look, and is a bit slim and sleek. Therefore, I chose pants with a thicker silhouette to balance the silhouette. Also, by using the brightest color in the coordination, I gave the outerwear a presence that would not be outdone by the pants. The gray and white monotone tends to make the entire outfit look blurred, instead of a clear black and white monotone. If you want to create a crisp, clear look, the key is to accentuate each of the upper and lower body parts.

How did you feel about the coat itself when you tried it on?
Teshima:First of all, as I mentioned earlier, it is lightweight and warm. . The 700 fill power specification is just right for street wear. . What I was also interested in was JW's original recycled functional material called Texapol Ecosphere. I don't go to environments that require waterproofing or breathability, but as a man, I'm interested in that kind of functionality.

Jack Wolfskin
