Sneaker Freak's Realistic Shoe Selection. Vol.9 Ryo Nonaka

The sneaker market continues to expand, with the latest performance shoes, limited editions, collaborations, faithful reissues, and even top maisons participating. What are the perspectives of the sneaker experts, what models do they choose, and what do they actually wear? We will introduce the real shoe choices of the best sneaker freaks in the industry in a relay format. Mr. Ryo Nonaka, former store manager of "Mr. Hollywood," was introduced to us by Mr. Ryu Kamiya in the previous issue. We asked him to name five pairs that he particularly likes these days, and asked him why he chose each of them and what his favorite points are.

01：CONVERSE × Golf Le Fleur_ONE STAR Attention is paid even to places you can't see.

Nonaka-san, tell us about your latest favorite sneakers. Let's start with these "Converse" sneakers.

In the field:I bought these shoes in New York about four years ago. Based on the "One Star," this model has a unique arrangement, even down to the outsole, which is usually hidden from view.

What made you choose these sneakers?

In the field:I was attracted by the vivid coloring. I thought this color scheme was unusual for Converse. Also, this model itself is rarely seen in Japan. That was also a major motivation for my purchase.

02：VANS × N.HOOLYWOOD_SLIP ON N. Hari-like arrangements are everywhere.

Next, the "Slip-On" by Vans. This is a collaboration model with "N. Hollywood.

In the field:This model was released about three years ago and sold out immediately. I think the finish is typical of "N. Hollywood," and I myself like it very much.

What do you particularly like about it?

In the field:The upper is decorated with a checkerboard pattern, different materials are used for different parts, and the instep has a layered design. The quality of the shoes is high, and they are very comfortable to wear.
