Mr. Yamada grew up in Kutchan, Hokkaido. Nearby is the 1,898-meter-high Mt. Yotei, known as Ezo Fuji, and the winter sports mecca of Niseko is just around the corner. Yamada's outdoor career began in a place where outdoor fields are commonplace.
'Back then, I used to go camping with my family. One day, our family was featured in an article in the local newspaper, something like, 'There's a family that's doing primitive camping! I was a little happy about that, and it got me interested in gear. That made me a little happy, and I became more interested in gear.
From there, he became addicted to camping, mountain climbing, climbing, and now mountain stream fishing.
Mr. Yamada has touched hundreds and thousands of pieces of gear, so what are his criteria for selecting gear?
Of course, looks are important, but in the end it comes down to 'good quality at a low price. But in the end, it comes down to 'good quality at a low price.

The ones from high-end foreign makers are stylish and cool looking, and those from garage makers are also rare and collectible. Both are hard to throw away. However, the destination is the obvious standard of "cheap and good quality. And since we are in a harsh outdoor environment, we want something that can be used roughly and without hesitation. The better the design, the better.
