The inspiration came from an Italian postman's bag.

Zanellato was founded in 1976 as a leather goods workshop in Vicenza, a city in northern Italy. Franco Zanellato, now the second-generation head of the company, has expanded the business. In the movie "Il Postino," set in the 1950s, the bag used by the young postman is the prototype.

The bag features a single handle on the side. The handle is angled at a 45-degree angle and is designed to naturally fit the body when held. A detachable shoulder strap is also included, allowing the bag to be carried in multiple ways. The inside of the bag has a wide gusset, which can hold an A4-size book, documents, or a lot of other items. It also has a zipper pocket and key strap, and is designed with the user in mind.

In addition, the "Postina" has a serial number on the leather patch that can be verified on the Zanellato website. Another feature is the use of studs on the sides of the bag, which are engraved by a machine that is one of only three in the world.

The "Postina," symbolized by the two turn locks placed in the center of the front, is an exclusive model that has received official approval from the Italian Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.
