Teshima:We are about the same age, so there is a surprising age difference between us. . When I was an assistant, Sho was very much loved.
Sho:At the time I was working for my master, I was the only assistant. But there were three senior assistants slightly above me, so I was like the youngest of four brothers. Among them, Mr. Toshima was the most senior, and I believe the first time I met him was in the coordination room when I was working for my master. After I became independent, I worked for the same media and met him more often.
Teshima:We'd go to exhibitions together, too.
Sho:It's reassuring to know that I can talk to him when I'm a little tired. When I'm up late in the coordination room, I'm the only one who goes there to talk (laughs).
Although they are both of different ages and in different moods, they both seem to be into KARHU sneakers, don't they?
Sho:Because they are classic shoes, aren't they?
Teshima:Mm-hm. KARHU is a neutral shoe. They never go out of style, they go with a lot of different styles, and they are very classic. This is the beauty of Scandinavian design.
Sho:KARHU is also sold at select stores that are closely connected with people's lifestyles, isn't it? So, I have an image of Scandinavian "design that is close to daily life. The gentle use of color is also a feature, and the smell is different from the impression of sports or industrial design.
Teshima:Yes, I agree. Isn't it nice to have a softer look and feel, but with strong roots and a hard edge?
Sho:They started out as spike shoes for track and field, didn't they? KARHU was also the first to develop air cushioning. I use these shoes for my work, and I think that the detailed design is of course great as an object, and they also go well with current fashions in terms of styling. They are also cute when worn with light-colored tones.
Teshima:Yes, it is. For some people, it seems to bring back memories. The "Synchrone" that Sho is wearing today and the brand's signature "Fusion" remind me of the boom in the 90's. .
