JOURNAL STANDARD OMOTESANDO with T2 TRAINSPOTTING.
One night, Journal Standard Omotesando was dyed orange.
The movie "T2 Trainspotting" was released in theaters last weekend. On April 7 (Fri.), the day before the release date, "JOURNAL STANDARD," which is collaborating with the film, held a store event. Many people came to JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando, where the event was held, and were intoxicated by the creation of the film and the store, as well as the grooves played by the gorgeous guest DJs. Here, we would like to share some of the highlights of the night with you.
Many people crowded into "JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando.
On April 7 (Fri.), Cat Street, where many people usually pass by, was even more crowded than usual. JOURNAL STANDARD Omotesando, which has a store on this street, held an event to celebrate its collaboration with the movie "T2 Trainspotting.
The store was filled with a large number of visitors, including not only regular customers, but also movie fans, people in the fashion industry, and even people who just happened to be passing by Cat Street.
Autographs of the lead actors too! Gorgeous exhibits displayed in the restaurant.
The first thing that surprised visitors was the special corner at the entrance of the store. In addition to the perfection of the collaboration items, the gorgeous exhibits that were displayed to complement them were a sight to behold.
Posters signed by Ewan McGregor, who played the lead role of Renton, Jonny Lee Miller as Sick Boy, Ewen Bremner as Spud, and Danny Boyle, who directed the film, are proudly displayed.
Next to the poster is the actual costume used in the play. You should actually check the movie to see which scene they were used in.
And an oversized panel of the photo used in the movie's flyer is also set up. Next to it, there is a booth with a toilet, which has become a familiar (?) feature in the "Trainspotting" series. The booths are also used as restrooms, a familiar (?) feature in the "Trainspotting" series. Many visitors were seen taking commemorative photos here.
These are the novelties distributed to visitors to the event. The bottle of soda and syringe-shaped candy were produced for this event, based on the motif of drugs, which is also the theme of this film.
A variety of gems of collaborative items.
So let's start with a final look at some of the collaborative items that are the stars of this event.
T-shirt ¥5,500+TAX
The T-shirt, printed with an orange box logo, is a simple design that is easy to fashion.
T-shirt ¥5,500+TAX
The neon-like font design on this eye-catching T-shirt features the names of the main characters in the work. The black and orange color scheme gives the T-shirt a pop, yet cool appearance.
Long Sleeve Tee ¥6,000+TAX
It has a simple logo on the front and the title "CHOOSE LIFE" on the back print, which is a line that Renton speaks in the play. The phrase is so memorable that fans will want to get their hands on this item at all costs.
Key chain ¥1,380+TAX , Mug ¥1,280+TAX
The keychains with the names of the main members on them can be attached to keys or simple bags. The plastic mugs have a cute pop design.
Tote bag ¥1,380
Like the T-shirt, this tote bag has a logo printed on it. While the design is simple and easy to use, the fact that it has a good capacity and can hold a lot of stuff is a nice point.
Towel scarf ¥1,850+TAX
The towel scarf with logo has a nice pop design that makes you want to use it not only during sports, but also at home or when you are out. As the weather gets hotter from now on, the opportunities for their appearance will naturally increase.
The event started! Gorgeous guest DJs who brought the floor to life!
At 7:00 p.m., the event started with music by a guest DJ. After passing through the special corner on the first floor, visitors climbed the stairs to the second floor, where they found a drink corner in front of them. Many visitors could be seen enjoying the party with a perfectly chilled beer in one hand and the music of the DJs in the other.
The floor was enlivened as soon as the show started by stylist Keisuke Baba, who has a strong connection with the UK. His playlist, centered on up-tempo club music, was full of songs that naturally made the audience want to step on the floor. The audience was intoxicated by Baba's music from the very beginning.
It's not that I chose the records for this event, but since "T2 Trainspotting" is a British movie, I tried to play a lot of songs by UK musicians. The music was cool in the last film, "Trainspotting," and I like everything about it. The scene where Renton goes into the toilet was impressive. I also like that goofy character with the glasses. It's been 20 years since then, and the cast is still the same, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they've changed.
As the beer was getting drunk, actor Kiyohiko Shibukawa took over Baba's baton and raised the voltage on the floor. His masculine playlist was full of Shibukawa's character.
I have in my mind the scene in "Trainspotting" where you are running away from the police. I think an Iggy Pop song was playing at the time, and it's a great movie with a great link to music. I was also impressed by the Underworld song that played while I was tripping. What I brought today are rockabilly and psychobilly records that I used to collect. I used to go to London Nights and such and was influenced by them, so that's what I'm going to do today to get the crowd going."
The last performer to get the floor moving was ShioriyBradshaw, who has been making her mark on the Tokyo music scene. Her playing is cool, but the music she plays is thoroughly hot and groovy. During the performance, she also played a song from the current movie.
I love the club scene in "Trainspotting," and I've brought a playlist that will allow me to recreate those scenes here today. I think this film is a valuable work that simulates an experience that I would not be able to have by myself. When I saw it for the first time, I was shocked. I like the part where Renton meets Diane. By the way, we also played songs from "T2 Trainspotting" today, such as "Dreaming" by Blondie and "Rain Or Shine" by the Young Fathers.
The visitors exude a unique aura.
Last but not least, I would like to introduce the visitors who came to the event. It would be impossible to photograph everyone, so I asked a few people who stood out to me during the event to take some pictures. I hope you will take note of the aura of each of them, which reeks of the culture typical of "T2 Trainspotting.
Left to Right: Toki Hikaru Shimizu (Beat Spectrum), HIDEYA (GASMARIA), MIYAMOTO (GASMARIA), Fukuyama (BEAMS)
Many people came to the event and enjoyed the evening, intoxicated by the creation of "JOURNAL STANDARD" and "T2 Trainspotting". Visitors remained until the end of the event, showing their excitement. The pop-up event is still ongoing at the store, so we hope you will visit the store, see the exhibits, pick up the collaborative items, and enjoy the world of the movie.
