HOUYHNHNM's & Salomon's summer play tour ♡ vol.6 Kotani & Hakuba

Salomon is a French-born outdoor brand that covers a wide range of activities including trail running and skiing. In recent years, Salomon has become popular in the fashion and lifestyle scenes, but the true value of its superior functionality can only be realized when used in the field. This project is about using Salomon's shoes and gear to enjoy the summer to the fullest. The title of this project is "HOUYHNHNM's x Salomon's Hands-on Summer Fun Tour. For the sixth installment, we will visit Kotani and Hakuba villages in the foothills of the Northern Alps in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture!

What is Kotani Village like?

So here we are in Kotani Village!

This is the Tsugaike gondola lift station located at the foot of Tsugaike Kogen plateau in the southern part of Kotani Village. It is the starting point for mountain climbing and mountain sightseeing in summer and skiing and snowboarding in winter.

For your information, "Kotani-mura" is read as "Otari-mura" and "Tsugaike" as "Tsugaike". If you did not know this, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with them.

Located in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, Kotani Village is rich in nature with the Hakuba mountain range, including Mt. Hakuba, which can be approached from Tsugaike Kogen, as well as popular mountains for mountaineering enthusiasts such as Mt. Otani Village, Hakuba Village, and Omachi City are collectively known as "Hakuba Valley," a popular area for enjoying a variety of activities in each season.
