Northern Nagano , Shinanomachi is on the rise.

OICHIICHI is famous in Kamakura for being a "restaurant that often takes a rest" . However, we have heard since spring that Mr. Satoru Segi, the owner of the popular "Oichi-ichi" restaurant, which is always packed when it opens, is preparing a distillery at Lake Nojiri. Lake Nojiri is famous for its Naumann elephants . . Then, long after that, what has become famous is "The Sauna," which is now considered a sacred place for saunas. The boom of moving to Nagano continues, and it seems that the northern part of Nagano , Shinano-cho, is slowly picking up steam.

Arrival at Lake Nojiri! A magnificent view of Mt. Kurohime and a tranquil lake with a peaceful feeling. The land that flourished as a settlement of the Jomon people is often a place with a pleasant atmosphere, and Lake Nojiri is no exception to this rule. Yamatoumi Farm & Distillery is located overlooking the lake.

Nice place, isn't it? . This land is located in the Myoko Togakushi National Park. As for our property, it is about 500 tsubo. . It used to be a 145-year-old thatched-roof house where the previous owner, my grandfather, lived like an old Japanese tale. We bought the house in the summer of 2021, but the main house and the warehouse were filled with 145 years of stuff, so for the first six months we were constantly going back and forth to Kamakura to clean up. It was a lot of work (laughs).
