This is the second collaboration project between Columbia PFG x HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB.
Where do hip hobbyists go and what do they do in their fishing gear?

Columbia's acronym for "Performance Fishing Gear PFG is Columbia's fishing line that combines fishing-specific functionality and convenience, and since its launch in the late 1980s has been a favorite brand of fishing wear for many anglers. As you know, PFG's signature fishing vests and Bahama shirts are also popular on the fashion scene.

Columbia PFG has had very few collaborations with such companies in the past. HOUYHNHNM Fishing Club approached us to launch a collection that combines fishing and fashion for the fall/winter 2022 season. We were approached by the Huynem Fishing Club and launched a collection that combined fishing and fashion in the fall/winter 2022 season. And now, in the spring/summer season of 2024, we have collaborated again to create a collection that reflects our selfishness!

The collection consists of a fishing vest, anorak, pants, hat, and shoulder bag. PFG's fishing vests from the 90's were used in this collection, and the mesh pockets were the core of the design. The clothes come in three color variations: black, navy, and dark olive, and were created with city wear in mind. Please take a look at the full range of items!

This fishing vest, which is popular in vintage clothing and has its roots in Columbia, was designed with a length that is easy to wear around town. The many pockets are a sampling of Columbia PFG fishing vests from various eras, and are not found in the archives. The vest is fashionable enough to be the star of your outfit, yet practical enough to hold everything you need without the need for a bag.

Anoraks in the outdoor line are one of the most popular items in the Columbia archives, but surprisingly, anoraks in the fishing line have not been proposed very often. For this collaboration, the anorak has been specially updated to fishing specs. The relaxed size makes it easy to wear. The iconic kangaroo pocket is a two-layered mesh pocket and flap pocket, inspired by the breast pocket of a Bahama shirt. The neck, with its double zipper and snap button closure, is also a specification not found in dated archives.

The pants are also loose-fitting, but tapered to give a small, clean look. The cargo pockets feature the same design as the kangaroo pockets on anoraks. The gusset crotch used in climbing pants is applied to the inseam to make it easier to move the legs. As with the Fishing Vest and Anorak, the material used is Columbia's proprietary Omni-Shield water-repellent and quick-drying material.

The hat also features a mesh pocket. The back half of the brim is a sunshade that can be fastened with a drawcord to adjust the fit, allowing it to be worn two ways. The chinstrap is detachable and can be used for both outdoor and city use. The catchy design is perfect for accenting coordinated outfits, and looks great in spring and summer outfits that tend to be simple.

The shoulder bag was also part of the lineup for the previous collaboration, but this one is one size larger. The main compartment is large enough to hold two lure cases, making it easy to use in everyday life. The daisy chain motif on the shoulder strap is very convenient for hooking up keys, small items, plastic bottles, and other items.
