The history of each adidas brand. And what I think about adidas Originals these days.
- First of all, please tell us about your "adidas" history. What models have you worn in the past?

Tokunaga: The first pair for me was the "Superstar". They were made in France. It was almost 40 years ago, when I was in the 4th or 5th grade of elementary school.
Yamada: Amazing. It's hard to find elementary school students who wear French-made "Superstars".
Tokunaga: My father bought them for me, as basketball shoes. I was playing basketball at the time.

UCHI: I have also been playing basketball since I was in elementary school. In those days, many NBA players wore shoes made by "adidas," and I was influenced by them. One player in particular I liked was Tracy McGrady. I admired him and often wore his signature model "T-MAC.

Yamada: I played soccer, not basketball. My first encounter with Adidas was with the Copa SP soccer shoes. When I was in elementary school, I saw an older student wearing them and was shocked at how cool they were. After that, I first bought a pair of "Samba" for myself. When I was in junior high school, for training purposes. I think the first pair I wore as a fashion item were "Superstars. Unlike Mr. Tokunaga, they were not made in France.
- You have all been familiar with "adidas" since you were children, haven't you? What do you think about the recent "adidas Originals" brand?
Yamada: In the past few years, the popularity of "samba" and "gazelle," as the terrace style is called, has not been humbled. Moreover, they have not ended as a transient boom, but have continued for a long time. I think that is what is amazing.
Tokunaga: The popularity of "Samba" and "Gazelle" is tremendous in our stores. The trend of vintage sneakers is linked to the current models, and when the current models are popular, the demand for vintage sneakers also increases. You can get a good idea of what's going on in the sneaker market by coming to our store.

UCHI: I myself have recently been wearing a lot of "Gazelle," a derivative of the "Gazelle This is a collaboration model with Sean Weatherspoon of "Indoor. The T-toe style sneaker, known as the "terrace style," is easy to match with any outfit. I think that is the reason for their popularity.
Tokunaga: It seems that many young people's first experience with "adidas Originals" was with "Samba" or "Gazelle. I hope this will be a good opportunity for them to discover the appeal of the brand. In addition to the Samba and Gazelle, adidas Originals has many other masterpieces. Originals" has many masterpieces in addition to "Samba" and "Gazelle.
