Hui-Nam Running has participated in the Shonan International Marathon every year so far. Club members who have participated in the Shonan International Marathon every year have entered the full marathon as a conditioned reflex. If we are going to go to the trouble of running, the longer distance is better, right? This time, however, we decided to change things up and run the Fun Run 10 km.
The participants were the following people.

From left, writer Issei Enomoto, model Haruka Koyama, and Huinamu deputy editor Hiroshi Yamamoto.
Ms. Koyama is an active athlete who has been seriously involved in track and field since her school days and continues to compete even now that she has entered the workforce. She also entered the Fun Run 10K instead of the full marathon this time. When asked why, she replied, "It's not that I don't want to try a full marathon. But I thought it would be too much of a challenge for me right now. This time, I chose the Fun Run 10K because I wanted to enjoy running first.
The Fun Run 10K started at 9:50 a.m., 50 minutes after the start of the full marathon.

The three run along the seaside road in Shonan. The pace is around 6 to 6:30 minutes per kilometer, a leisurely pace that allows the three of them to talk while running.
After running about 5 kilometers from the start, the runners will pass the turnaround point and head for the finish line at the Oiso Prince Hotel.

The weather on this day was clear and sunny. A perfect day for running.

From the turnaround point onward, the route takes the ocean-side lane, so the ocean is even closer. Incidentally, Enomoto and Yamamoto are wearing "The North Face" shoes.Alta Mesa 500". These shoes are designed for trail running, but they are soft, comfortable, cushioned, and easy to run on the road.

It's so much fun! It feels so good!" Mr. Koyama smiles throughout the run. Mr. Koyama smiled throughout the run.

Water supply along the way. Pour water or a sports drink into your own cup that you carry with you to rehydrate yourself.
After proceeding for a while, the event management announced, "The top runners of the full marathon will pass by, so please keep the right side of the road clear.

A top full marathoner dashing through the field. As expected, they are fast!
Further along, we saw a group of parents and children running in the opposite lane.

These are the runners participating in the Fun Run 2K. In addition to the junior high school and upper elementary school age groups, there is also a Family Run for parents and children, which allows lower elementary school age children to run together with their parents or guardians. The smiling faces of the children running happily were impressive.

Along the way, when you come across a nice view, stop to take a picture or sometimes a selfie. This is a unique way to enjoy the Fun Run 10K.
Return to the Oiso Prince Hotel, pass through the gate, and finish!

I finished the 10 km without incident. Well, that was fun!
Until now, Enomoto and Yamamoto have been taking a more upfront approach, saying, "If I'm going to run, I'm going to run a long distance," and "I'm going to run a race, so I'm going to give it my all." But after participating in the Fun Run 10K this time, they may have gained a new perspective.
Mr. Koyama, who is a serious active athlete, said throughout the session, "This is so much fun! He said throughout the race, "It's so much fun! After the finish, he said, "If I have a chance to run the Shonan International Marathon again, I want to do the Fun Run 10K next time! After the finish, he said, "If I have another chance to run the Shonan International Marathon, I want to do the Fun Run 10K again!
You can enjoy the scenery and atmosphere unique to this event, and feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment from completing the race, while at the same time minimizing the damage to your legs and body. The 10-kilometer fun run at the Shonan International Marathon is a great option.
