As a stylist, what do you think of the recent trend toward sports mixes?

Usami:There is an impression that fashion and sports are getting closer to each other. Fashion brands are becoming more casual, while sports brands are actively incorporating fashion by collaborating with various designers.

What is your impression of Nike Sportswear?

Usami:I have the impression that you are actively using technology cultivated in the performance scene. I wonder if you are consciously working on how to make daily life more comfortable, rather than separating it out as fashion.

Usami:The "Nike Tech Pack" collection has accelerated the sports mix, hasn't it? What did you think of this season's tops used in this styling?

Usami:From the original form derived from ergonomics, to the combination of tech fleece and tech knit, to the seam treatment. It is interesting just to look at it as a product first, because you can see how the evolution of technology has influenced the design.

Moreover, when I actually put the sleeves on, I was surprised at how comfortable it was. To be honest, I even wanted to wear it on my bare skin. The tech-knit sleeves in particular feel new against the skin, and the colors created by the unevenness are beautiful.

Are there any points you were conscious of when styling?

Usami:I was conscious of matching bottoms with nylon and stretchy technical materials, rather than natural materials such as jeans and chinos. I think of it as adjusting the coloring and overall silhouette while harmonizing the materials on the top and bottom.

How did you feel when you actually put them on the models?

Usami:It's a product that is worth looking at, but when you put it on, you feel comfortable in it. I think this kind of balance is unique to Nike Sportswear. I think that Nike Sportswear brings technology into our real lifestyles in a smart way.

What do you expect from Nike Tech Pack in the future?

Usami:Technology will continue to evolve rapidly in the future. In that sense, I think the role of the "Nike Tech Pack" is very important. That is why I hope that you will continue to actively create collections that make us feel close to the latest technology. I have high expectations.
