About the behind-the-scenes of the filming.
Iga-san, you were involved in this project as the general director and stylist. First of all, could you tell us the story behind the making of this movie?
Iga: Two men and a woman posing side by side - if we were going to go to the trouble of making a short film, it would not be interesting to do something so ordinary. So we discussed it among the staff and decided to make a short film with actors.
In the case of a film, there is a script, and the director, actors, and art directors all work on it as a standard. This time, I wanted to shoot an etude (improvised play) within a short time frame, so I decided on a light setting to make it easy for everyone to play around with. The theme was something like "two people in an awkward situation. It is a short story about Nakajima who prepares to open the restaurant until Inui-san, the owner, arrives, and Fukuchi-san who is asked to unlock the door of the restaurant on short notice.

How are Nakajima-san and Fukuchi-san doing now that you have finished filming?
Fukuchi: This time, since there was no script, I was able to use the clothes as clues to freely develop the character's character.
Nakajima: I am not good at standing in front of the camera without any lines, showing off my clothes and my face. Today was my first meeting with Mr. Fukuchi, and I didn't have to make my clothes look particularly pretty, so I was happy to be in front of the camera as I was and as we were in relation to each other (laughs).

So it felt like you were on a regular shooting location?
Nakajima: No, or differently, it was really "as is".
Iga: Today is somewhere in between. It depends on whether you wear the clothes as Ayumi Nakajima or as Takahashi Shimamoru, and which persona you wear the clothes as.
Nakajima: There are roles in a play, but in the end, I think it is important to be able to express "as myself" through the role. No matter what the role or setting, if I forget what I am feeling in the scene or the relationship with the other person, I will just see "an actor playing another person. I think I was able to be present in the scene by integrating all of these elements in today's shooting.
