A one-of-a-kind rock sound created by a love for each other.

-Texas 3000 is one of the hottest bands in the music world right now, but the band was formed a while ago, right?

Jojo: It's 2019, so it's been about 6 years already. First me and Sakiyama met and for a while we just played in the studio. It was around 2022 that we started working in earnest, and then kirin started supporting us, and we released our first album in 2023.

-Was it the addition of KIRIN that made you decide to start working on this project in earnest?

KIRIN: We naturally moved at this pace, didn't we? I don't know if I remember having many constructive conversations.

Sakiyama: In the first place, we wanted to do a live show, and we were talking about how we should add Jojo and a bass player. Now that we had that together, we decided to do a live show.

-Oh, you hadn't done any live performances at all before that?

Jojo: I've done it a few times....

KIRIN: Jojo snapped (laughs).

Jojo: Yes, there is friction when it's just the two of us.

Sakiyama: On the day of our first show, Jojo tried to kill me during the show because I was so hungover and about 2 hours late. After that, they broke up.

Jojo: The person who invited me to that concert was a PA, and I called him and told him that we had broken up. However, three years later, I was able to perform in front of 400 people at the Quattro in Shibuya with the PA person.

-Actually, Texas 3000 was there today after overcoming the crisis of dissolution (laughs).

Sakiyama: Yes, that's right (laughs).

Jojo: The second live concert was self-organized, and we invited only the artists we liked and had a crazy party. Kirin also participated for the first time. That was a lot of fun, so we did a lot of independent gigs, even though we didn't have any fans.

-How did the three of you meet in the first place?

Jojo: Me and Sakiyama met at a live house called FORESTLIMIT in Hatagaya. I saw Sakiyama smashing drums at a live show, picked him up, and asked him to join me in the studio. From there we started playing together often.

Sakiyama: Jojo was having a great time at the party then, too, and I thought it was nice. It's kind of embarrassing (laughs).

Jojo: My first impression of kirin was that the bass guitar was good.

KIRIN: Glad to hear it! Jojo's guitar is great too. I met them both through a member of another band I was in who connected me with them.

Sakiyama: At first, they said they didn't want to be official members (laughs).

KIRIN: I was worried that the two of them were really too weird for me. On the day we released our first album, we announced that we had officially joined the group.
