Novelist.Hiroki ShimaguchiHe was born in Saitama Prefecture in 1998 and is just 26 years old.

In 2021, he made his debut by winning the 64th Gunzo New Writers Award with "Tori ga Bokura ha Prayer," which was nominated for the 64th Gunzo New Writers Award. The same work was nominated for the 43rd Noma Literary New Writers Award, and the following year in 2022, "On the Planet" was nominated for the 166th Akutagawa Award, already a remarkable achievement. Other works include "Distant Fingertips Touch" and a novel version of the film "The Young Strangers," directed by Takuya Uchiyama.

His new work, "Solo Echo," has just been published.

The story begins with the protagonist walking the streets of Yokohama with a camera left behind by his missing father. The story intersects with a tale of a prostitute's escape at the end of the Edo period, the second Yokohama Station that burned down, the postwar black market and redevelopment, and the city's history and modest trajectory of life.
