This is the second volume of Tetsuya Nagato's new project "IRUBOOKS. Photographer Ryosuke Hoshina has created a zine of his daily life. The publication event will start next week.

Art Director.Tetsuya NagatoIRUBOOKS" is a new project of the "IRUBOOKS". Some of you may not be familiar with it, so let me explain again.

In this project, Nagato, who has been at the forefront of the fashion industry since the late 1990s, calls on stores he is familiar with and creators he would like to hook up with to create new works through collaboration.

Nagato's innovative perspective and abundance of ideas make this an experiment unparalleled in the industry.

The first zine was launched at the beginning of August and was produced with "alt," a vintage clothing store in Nishiogikubo, and news of the second zine has already arrived.

The second installment is by a photographer who is also a member of the Huinamu team.Ryosuke Hoshinaand produced the zine "Shade 1.

Mr. Hoshina has been studying under photographer Katsuhide Morimoto since 2018 and will go independent in 2022. He is currently active in fashion magazines, brand looks, and artist photography with his unique world view, and is a photographer with a secret following in the industry.

Hoshina's photographs depict ordinary alleys, people, and situations that can be found anywhere in the world with a humorous and slightly insane perspective. This is similar to the "super art thomason" advocated by Genpei Akasegawa and others in the 80's. Influenced by the thomason that I received as a child, I am one of those people who like to walk around with a vague feeling that cannot be obtained in a museum or gallery. I am one of those people who like to walk around with a sense of ambiguity that cannot be obtained in a museum or gallery. Looking at these photographs, I can see Hoshina's image of walking along at will, establishing the useless moments that the city and its people keep unconsciously creating, while at the same time completely blending in with the situation.
It would be great if this zine would be an opportunity to go out for a walk with a camera in hand. We will continue to publish the "Shade" series of zines starting with this one.
