visvim has announced an event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the brand's establishment. It is the "visvim HARMONIOUS PROCESS" commemorating the 25th anniversary of the brand's establishment. The event will be held separately at Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building and Ron Herman.

The focus here is on mud dyeing, a natural dyeing technique that has been handed down from generation to generation on Amami Oshima Island in Kagoshima Prefecture. This is an attempt to introduce the technique used for traditional crafts such as Oshima tsumugi, as well as its charms, through exhibits and products.

A 16-page booklet, "Addendum to the Dissertation / Doro-Zome (Mud-Dyeing)," created especially for the event, will be distributed at the event.

It has been more than a decade since we first introduced mud dyeing. Although it seems that we have continued to do the same thing, in fact, we have expanded the possibilities of "mud dyeing" as a dyeing and processing technique through repeated trial and error with slight modifications made to each attempt. Not only dyeing in brown or black, but we have also established an expression that adds a very slight texture to products made of synthetic fibers such as nylon, which had not existed in the history of "mud-dyeing" until now.
In such efforts, it is essential not only to respect inherited traditions, but also to gain the understanding and cooperation of craftspeople who are willing to take on new challenges. In Japan, where the kimono culture has long endured, there is still a small amount of handmade craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation. We believe that one of our missions in creating new products is to reborn their charm in a form that fits the times and connect them to today's market.
