Photographer.Masahiro Sanbewill hold a solo exhibition "PORTRAIT IN LANDSCAPE" in Kyoto.

The purpose of this exhibition is to examine the nature of "posthumous images" through photographs of landscapes.

Even an ordinary photo of a landscape may be an important photo that reminds people of someone they are looking at.

Four sets of portraits, including the photographer himself, will be exhibited to represent such portraits as landscapes.

Two years ago, when my father passed away, I hurriedly prepared a portrait of him.
I chose a photo of him smiling at my sister's wedding, but as time went by, perhaps because I was going elsewhere, the difference between the father in that photo and the father in my memory became disconcerting.
I remember a scene of my father standing in a familiar space.
I felt that my father would remain comfortably in my memory as long as I did not forget the scene, even if he was not in the picture.
