Japanese psychedelic rock band Kikagaku Moyo has announced an indefinite hiatus as of 2022.
Go Kurosawa, widely known as the band's drummer/vocalist and co-founder of the Guruguru Brain label, will release his first solo album, "soft shakes.
For over 10 years, Go Kurosawa has performed at festivals and live shows around the world, jamming and recording with a variety of artists.
This work, "soft shakes," is his first complete solo work, in which he played and produced all the instruments himself since the end of his activities with Geometric Patterns.
It appears to have been produced through "one-man jam sessions" at the Guruguru Brain studio in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, between January and June 2024.

In the band, it was assumed that "who would play what," but this time I decided to try to do everything by myself as much as possible. I decided to try out what I could do and what I couldn't do. I just tried things out without expecting anything. Jamming with myself. That was the concept.
During the cold and rainy winter and early spring in Europe, I would go to the studio every day and just pick up the instruments that were there and make sounds. If the next day my mind moved me, I would tweak it. If not, I would start anew. Step by step, I created casually while having fun.
The tracks on the "Hitori Jam" album, which are based on the concept of "dialogue with sound," are free like a jam session and crossover between various genres.
Every day I listen to the sounds I made the day before in a fresh state, and while adding and subtracting sounds, I find myself jamming with my past self.
The artwork was first created by partner Ao Karoui.
It gives me great pleasure to work with my own partners on my first challenge. There is an unconventional freedom and boldness there that I think matches the sound I created.
The last production in Europe and the beginning of a new journey.
At the time of the album's creation, he was pondering where he would live after eight years in Europe. As a result, this album became a symbolic album that marked the end of his life in Europe.
I think the sound expresses my feelings for my distant hometown and the places I have yet to visit. Creating this piece was the end of a journey and the beginning of the next one.
Currently based in Fukuoka, Japan, he is working on a new studio concept.
We hope that the album "soft shakes" will be a catalyst for someone's imaginary journey.
I want the listener to travel somewhere through the music. I would be happy if you feel as if you have "returned" to your own safe home after your journey, when you finish listening to the album.
This album will be available digitally from September 5 (Fri.).
Go Kurosawa's first solo album, which he arrived at after a one-man jamming process, is a must-hear.
