Clarks, which celebrated its 200th anniversary this year, has come out with a special pair of shoes.
It is "Petersburg," the origin of the brand.
Petersburg" was the first shoe of "Clarks," which was born in 1825. At that time, Silas, the brother of James Clark, the founder of the brand, was a tanner. The "Petersburg" mouton slippers were made from scraps of leather from the tannery.
Three years after the company's founding, James and his trusted shoemaker made improvements and introduced the "Brown Petersburg" brand. At this time, there was no factory, and the shoes were made by hand in the home of the craftsman and his family. The "Brown Petersburg" became popular because of its comfort and affordability, and it is said that this was the beginning of Clarks' full-fledged development as a shoe manufacturer.
