BIRKENSTOCK 1774 introduces its new collection. Inspired by the vibrant Berlin of the 1920s.

If we trace the genesis of a culture, we find a backlash or reaction against something. Countless chains of these backlashes create an era and are passed down through the generations. So the more decadent the mood of the world, the greater the backlash, and the more likely the culture tends to be enriched. It is ironic.

BirkenstockThe new collection of BIRKENSTOCK 1774, BIRKENSTOCK's premium line, has just been launched, and the theme is so grand that it makes you think about it.

Let's start with the visual photos.

The source of inspiration for the design was Berlin in the 1920s.

After the end of World War I, people in the city of Berlin struggled with poverty and inflation, and prostitution and drugs were rampant. However, this led to the blossoming of popular culture such as cabarets and nightclubs, as well as the spread of radio and movies. Artists and scholars flocked to Berlin. The "Golden Twenties" were also known as the "Roaring Twenties.

The collection takes details from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco architectural styles that emerged during this period and fuses them with contemporary design to create a bold and freeform shoe collection that incorporates textures, materials, and colors unique to the 1920s.

Item is here.

Art Nouveau has many curves derived from nature, while Art Deco has many geometric and straight lines. The characteristics of both are selected and incorporated into each model. I am always fascinated by the story behind Birkenstock's craftsmanship.

Looking more specifically at the "FLORIDA" and "ARIZONA," elegant ribbon details are incorporated, and other sandals feature buckles reminiscent of the Art Deco era. The darker coloring also strangely echoes the tones of that era.

In addition, "MARIA SUEDE BLACK" and "MARIA SUEDE DEEP BURGUNDY," which are reissued archival silhouettes, are also available. They are newly revived with modern technology.

This collection exudes the atmosphere of Berlin in the 1920s, while incorporating it into shoes with a modern sensibility. We hope that the wearers will take this opportunity to think back to that era and gain new insights. The collection is already on sale. Don't miss it!
