Let me explain some of its features. First, the famous Hyvent® fabric. The outside of the textile is treated with a water-repellent finish that forms water droplets and repels water from the surface. On the other hand, the fabric is designed to allow water vapor to pass from the inside to the outside, fulfilling the essential function in outdoor activities of keeping water out without making you feel stuffy.
The North Face has also developed an innovative proprietary fabric that improves moisture management and temperature regulation during outdoor activities. FlashDryTM" allows for drier, more comfortable, and longer performance capabilities in a wide range of weather conditions and environments without increasing weight or volume.
High quality goose down is used for down wear insulation. Tests were conducted in three stages to check recovery after compression. By using goose down with high fill power, high heat retention was achieved.
