This time we drove from Yoyogi Park to our "TOTOKENThe course is about 15 kilometers long and ends at the "Tokyo International Airport" in Tokyo. The course passes Omotesando, Roppongi, Tokyo Tower, Shiba Park, Tsukiji Market, and concludes with a sauna.
How did they feel about the ride and how did they feel about the ride? We asked the three relaxed members of the group after their sauna session.
Doidi:
There are unexpected ups and downs in Tokyo. When I ride a regular bicycle uphill, I am so busy pedaling that I don't have time to look around me, but with the Vado SL 2, I can really get a feel for the city. Today's route was one that I have taken many times before by car, but I had the pleasure of discovering stores and alleys that I had never noticed before. You see, when you go from Roppongi to the Iikura intersection, you can see the Tokyo Tower. I have always liked symbolic things, so the moment when I drive through the bustle of Roppongi with Azabudai Hills on my left, I feel very uplifted.
I noticed three points of evolution from the first generation. First, the display is larger and has been moved to the center of the handlebar closer to the rider so it is easier to see; second, the brake-linked taillight integrated with the rear rack. Today I rode single file with my friends, and it was easier to see the tail lights of the riders in front of us, which made us feel safer. Lastly, the assist level switch located on the left hand side. It can be operated by simply moving one button up and down, improving operability. This is a small thing, but I feel it works very well. I had no major complaints to begin with, but I have the impression that the overall design has been further refined.

I felt that the feeling when I started pedaling was very pleasant. The power output is the same, but the noise when the motor assist is working has been clearly reduced, and I felt a more natural acceleration feeling.
The design of the Vado SL 2 is basically high-tech, but I also felt that it has a bit of a beach cruiser look to it, or a classic element. So I thought it would be surprisingly appropriate to wear it with an open-collared shirt and short pants. When you ride a special bike like this, you feel like you are the center of attention, so you inevitably pay more attention to fashion. It's a good stimulus and fun.
Yamamoto:
I usually focus on running and do not often ride a bicycle, so this was a new experience for me. Riding the Vado SL 2 in the city, I felt that I needed to pay attention to various things around me, such as cars and people. I felt like my nerves were sharpened. I also do trail running, and I felt it was a bit similar to the sensation of running downhill at high speed. There was a good feeling of running through the obstacles in front of me in a good rhythm, making decisions on how to clear them at a moment's notice.
It is refreshing to be able to move forward with little physical strength or leg power, yet still feel a sense of physical exertion. It is also nice to be able to control the load by changing gears. I was surprised to see how enjoyable bicycles are nowadays. I took it easy today, so next time I would like to ride with a little more load on my body.
