Keiichi Sogabe / Musician
Born in Kagawa Prefecture, he is the frontman of the rock band Sunny Day Service, formed in 1992, which disbanded in 2000 but reformed in 2008. In August, he released his first book, "Seishun Kyorokyoku," which attracted a lot of attention. He is currently working on his latest album.
Here, we introduce some of Sogabe's favorite items that connect his daily music life and his car. He says, "It's not something that I force upon people, but I am somewhat particular about the things I choose. Book "Daibosatsu Touge" , "Authentic Novels
. I take several books with me wherever I go, and not just when I drive. I'm currently reading these two old books, but I just love reading print, so I'll read anything that my instinct tells me looks interesting, regardless of genre. I also like magazines."
Electronic keyboard, tambourine, maracas
. "The compact keyboard is always handy to have on hand because I can use it when a song pops into my head. I keep borrowing it from my kids. ( lol ) I thought it would be fun to have a tambourine and maracas in the car with the kids when we go for car rides. Some of the songs were recorded during family sessions like that back in the day."
Headphones "MASTER & DYNAMIC
I have been using them since I received them at work. The texture of the leather is nice and comfortable to wear, and the sound quality, which is not overly emphasized on the bass and treble, is just flat and natural enough for daily sound checks. Headphones and earphones are not necessarily expensive, but the ones that are faithful to the original sound are the best.
Sunglasses "Hakusan Opticians
I also have my glasses made at Hakusan Opticians . . They are easy and comfortable to wear. . I also like the distinctive round frames. I like the Moody Man look. ( lol )
Tumbler "Starbucks Coffee
. always carried for coffee. Sometimes I brew it at home. This tumbler is a badass color scheme. Coffee has become even more indispensable since I quit drinking and smoking, and I drink 10 cups a day. I also like coffee shops and often drive to Jimbocho just to have a cup of coffee.
Notebook "Moleskine
I've been using Moleskine notebooks like crazy since before you could buy them anywhere like you can now. . I love the texture of the paper. . I use it for writing songs, jotting down set lists at gigs, scrapping articles I find interesting in the newspaper, and for many other purposes. . And everything I've ever used is lined up on my bookshelf. Every once in a while, I go through them to see if I can find something new, and sometimes I make a great discovery.
CD
I usually listen to whatever genre of music strikes my fancy, but I think I bring a selection of CDs to the car that I feel fit the way I drive," he said.
Tote bag "L.L.Bean
L.L.Bean's totes are sturdy and sturdy is the best thing about them. . I carry a lot of things in it in my car. It's not easy to wash, but ( lol )"
Guitar "Gibson B-25
." "You never know when you'll come up with something, so I take my guitar with me wherever I go as much as possible. This Gibson is a low-cost version of a B-25 from the 60s. I think I bought it around 2000, and I've been using it for a long time now. It's not that I have to have it, but it fits my skin. I can usually tell the moment I hold it. I think it is the same with cars. You get more attached to something you bought on the spur of the moment than to something you bought after much hesitation.
