Born and raised in Okinawa, the land and culture of the United States has been an object of fascination for Kureya since he was a child, and the setting for his new photo book, "Album," is also the United States. The book is a collection of photographs taken in California, Oregon, and Washington, where he traveled on August and September of this year.
Along the way, Kureya captured roadside hamburger stores, bagel store signs, gas stations, and other scenes that are, to say the least, ordinary.
However, the strong American flavor in these photographs is due to Mr. Kureya's unique point of view. These photos have a warmth that makes us feel nostalgic for a landscape we have never been to or seen before.
In conjunction with this release, the first photo exhibition in five years is being held at the OFO by INHERIT GALLERY in Daita.
On November 1st (Sat), the first day of the event, "THURSDAY COFFEE STAND" and on the 3rd (Mon), "SAUCE COFFEE" will serve coffee, so please visit them during the three-day weekend.
