An experimental event, "alter.2025, Tokyo," will be held at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall for three days from November 7 (Fri.) to 9 (Sun.) to present alternative product design approaches by creators from diverse fields who will lead the next generation.
In this event, 59 young Japanese creators from 11 projects, selected by the curators of MoMA and the Pompidou, will exhibit their product works. In addition, there will be an exhibition of the results of a product design education program for teenagers, talk sessions, and a market.
Participants are as shown.
Next-generation creators from a wide variety of fields, including contemporary artists, photographers, editors, researchers, musicians, dancers, art directors, engineers, etc., participate in the exhibition, which is characterized by the fact that creators from different industries, rather than individuals, organize projects together and exhibit as a team.
Each project is required to clearly articulate its concept while deepening its awareness of social issues and narratives that present the significance of the product's existence, as well as the completeness of the overall presentation, including not only the artwork itself, but also the design of the exhibition space and the visitor experience. The presentation of the work itself is also required.
