SUN/kakke is a fashion brand favored by the fashionable, the curvy, and the well-heeled. SUN/kakke's wide-ranging creations, which traverse the length and breadth of casual and dress, are the rare embodiment of the broad and deep, rather than the shallow and wide.
Designer Yuhi Ozaki also has a deep knowledge of leather shoes and has realized this special collaboration.
The partners are Crockett & Jones, the conscience of English shoes, and LAST, a well-known men's shoe magazine, in a hard, dark, and heavy triple collaboration.
The base model for this project is the "MAGEE 2" model by "Crockett & Jones," which Mr. Ozaki says he loves to wear. With a small, rounded toe, this pair uses the "330" last, which was first produced when Crockett & Jones launched its hand-graded line, and has the feel of old-fashioned English shoes.
To add his own twist, Mr. Ozaki says he traveled to Northampton, England, this summer, where the Crockett & Jones factory is located, the sacred land of English shoes.
The combination of exquisitely colored brown calf and molded leather with a unique diamond-shaped pattern, a quirky and peculiar switch that is typical of , is exploding.
The "triangle" stitching on the cap was inspired by the archives of the 60s. Of course, it is a play on the brand name. The somewhat outdoorsy nuance of the stitching adds a slightly casual nuance to the neat mood of the leather shoes.
According to Ozaki, "It takes a high level of skill to process the molded leather upper into an accordion shape.
The archive logo and "SUN/kakke" are printed.
In fact, Crockett & Jones is currently doing almost no collaborations. It must have been Mr. Ozaki's passion for shoes that motivated the stubborn and sturdy manufacturer.
