The first item in the Levi's® Authorized Vintage lineup is an American-made trucker jacket from the 1980s and 1990s. Of course, each piece has a different texture because it is vintage clothing. Enjoying its color fading is also an entertainment!
In addition to the overwhelming scale of the entire Levi's® line, the store is also home to Kansai's first "Levi's® Tailor Shop," where you can customize your favorite pair of jeans or other clothing to your own taste, and the first "Levi's® Authorized Vintage," which carries the brand's vintage clothing in Japan. The shop is also the first Levi's® Authorized Vintage shop in Japan to sell the brand's vintage clothing. Also, don't miss the "TYPE III TRUCKER JACKET," which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
The Levi's® Store Osaka, which is filled with such attractions, held an opening reception on Thursday, October 5, prior to its opening. As I walked around the store with a drink in my hand, I was surprised to see a crowd of people gathered inside the store.
That's no wonder, as the reception featured an in-store live performance by Kyoto-based rapper ANARCHY.
ANARCHY was selected as one of 50 influencers to participate in a global campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the "TYPE lll," the original G-jacket (other influencers included musician Solange, Chance the Rapper and designer Virgil Abloh). The designer appeared on stage wearing a loose check shirt with slim denim and a cloak-shaped trucker jacket, which he designed himself.
ANARCHY got his first trucker jacket when he was in elementary school. I asked for a NES cassette for Christmas, but the one I found on my pillow was a white trucker jacket," he said. He added, "Levi's® is a lifestyle. I wear it all the time," he said, demonstrating that the brand is universal to everyone.
In the live performance, they held the microphone with a DJ in the background and performed seven songs: "Cradle to the grave", "WHATEVER", "Energy Drink", "GANGSTAR", "HELLA RICH", "MOON CHILD", and "Hitohitori Futari". During the MC between songs, he said, "I send my respect and gratitude to everyone who gathered here on a weekday night. The powerful stage performance, typical of ANARCHY, which seemed to appeal to the audience, was enthusiastically responded to by the fans, and the 15-minute live performance ended in a flash.
So the reception on the day was a great success. It was impressive to see many people staying at the store after the live show and checking out the products in the store. This new landmark in Osaka is located near Triangle Park, a landmark in Ame-mura. It seems that this store will have a great impact on the Osaka fashion scene.
