In March 2026, *White Mountaineering* brought a 20-year phase to a close.
Starting with the 27SS season, we’ll be launching a collection infused with a new spirit.
The brand's statement reads as follows:
The city is a quiet battlefield.
Rain, wind, crowds—and information, too
The outdoors isn't limited to the mountains.
Cities, too, are part of the environment.
It is essential that the clothing itself possess these performance characteristics.
However, what we create is
It's a style that works not only for the outdoors but also in the city.
While offering these features,
The fact that it is a complete work in its own right
That's White Mountaineering's
"Function is beauty"
Incidentally, “Yōsoku-bi” refers to the religious philosopher and founder of the Mingei Movement,
This is a concept proposed by Muneyoshi Yanagi, based on the idea that “true beauty resides in tools that have been perfected for ease of use.”
The seasonal look has also been given a fresh new look. The start of the second chapter of *White Mountainering*, declared as “REDEFINED,” is expressed through fresh creative work.
The GORE‑TEX® series—a symbol of the brand—and technical nylon jackets are, of course, still part of the lineup. The collection also includes pants made from blended fibers and recycled materials, as well as shirts and knitwear crafted from natural fibers such as cotton and linen.
What caught my eye was the collection of items featuring bold treatments such as indigo dyeing and piece dyeing. You can sense a new creative direction that we haven’t seen before.
According to the press release, these collections are “the result of the synergy between the new designer’s vision and the brand’s creative team.”
Information regarding the new designer is expected to be announced alongside the Fall/Winter 2027 collection.
Until then, it’s also a time when you can view our creations from a somewhat neutral perspective. We encourage you to pick up a piece and experience the brand’s new pulse for yourself.
