A photography exhibition by German artist Stefan Schneider will be held at PMC GALLERY in Nakameguro from November 2.
Stefan Schneider studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, the art university in Düsseldorf, under Bernd and Hilla Becher, two of Germany's leading contemporary photographers, before becoming active as a photographer and, since 1994, as a musician. He was also a founding member of the German post-rock and electronica groups Kreidler) and To Rococo Rot. This exhibition features film works of landscapes from around the world he traveled and visited over a period of 13 years, from 2003 to 2016. Looking at the stark, unspoiled trees, the earth, the breath of powerful life, and the richly contrasted frames, one feels as if he or she were there, in the silence, and the clear air was entering his or her body.
To celebrate this exhibition, a 2018 artist calendar featuring 12 of his works will be on sale. Visitors will also be able to view the music he compiled for his fashion brand "MEAN" as background music. This is a rare exhibition of the artist's work that is not easily seen in Japan.
