Sebastian Sawé of Kenya set the first-ever sub-2-hour full marathon time in human history. Supporting that remarkable achievement from the ground up was the “Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3,” the top-of-the-line racing shoe from Adidas.
Building on the technology developed there, the “Agravic Speed Ultra Evo” trail running shoe was unveiled on Thursday, August 20, 2026, by “Adidas Terrex,” the outdoor division of Adidas.
The midsole features the highly durable Lightstrike Pro, and its design promotes smooth weight transfer, delivering both propulsion and stability. Furthermore, the shoe incorporates the “Dual ENERGYRIM” system—inspired by the “Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3”—which allows each side of the shoe to operate independently. This provides excellent adaptability even on the undulating terrain typical of trails and delivers over 10% more energy return compared to the previous model.

Furthermore, the upper is made of engineered woven material, which provides a soft, comfortable feel. By minimizing stitching on the one-piece collar, the design ensures a superior fit while also preventing small stones and other debris from entering the shoe.
Incidentally, some Adidas athletes are scheduled to wear them at a world-class trail race taking place in Chamonix, France, starting Monday, August 24. It will be interesting to see what kind of results these unconventional racing shoes will deliver in the trail running scene. Let’s keep an eye on it.
