A Wallabee finished with Ryukyu indigo and Amami clay. This is a Japan-exclusive collaboration between Clarks Originals and The Inoue Brothers.

Indigo from Okinawa and clay from Amami. As part of a Japan-exclusive collaboration between and , a uniquely original version of the classic “Wallabee™” will be available for pre-order.

Using “Warraby” as the canvas, the designs feature natural dyeing techniques developed by the “Ryukyu Indigo Research Institute” in Okinawa and “Kanai Kogei” on Amami Oshima. These are layered with street art techniques such as spray paint and drip painting.

Shoes ¥ 39,800

The materials used are natural Ryukyu indigo and Amami clay. The shoes are finished using a unique method in which the dye is adjusted and then sprayed directly onto the shoes, followed by the manual application of additional layers of color. As a result, each pair has its own distinct character.

The collection features two models: Ryukyu indigo-dyed and Amami mud-dyed. Limited to 200 pairs exclusively in Japan, each pair will be engraved with a unique serial number. Since the shoes are custom-made after an order is placed, it may take up to about two months for them to arrive.

As an opportunity to see this collaboration up close, a pop-up event is currently being held at “Clarks Originals Tokyo” through Wednesday, September 30. In addition to displaying photos and videos that shed light on the background of the collaboration, a talk event featuring Satoshi Inoue of *The Inoue Brothers* will be held on Friday, the 11th, and he is scheduled to be present at the store on Saturday, the 12th, and Sunday, the 13th.

During this period, those who pre-order eligible items will also receive an original tote bag—upcycled from a classic T-shirt—as a gift, available in limited quantities. Tradition and street style, Japan and Scandinavia. The intersection of these diverse elements has resulted in a pair of shoes with a remarkably free-spirited design. Rather than simply calling them shoes, it might be more accurate to describe them as small works of art for your feet.
