Even though it is a shared office, Midori-so exudes a unique world view and uniqueness. The gallery seems to be no exception.
Midori-so Gallery is pleased to present "GRAJOOLA," an exhibition by Yoonkee Kim, based in Seoul, Korea, Kazuma Ogata, based in Tokyo, and his ally NONCHELEE, opening Friday, November 24.
Yoonkee, who released a dub album "ASIAN ZOMBIE" in 2004 and has since continued to experiment with music and painting without boundaries; NONCHELEEE, who released his first collection of works "LIFE GOES ON" this summer and has attracted attention from various fields; and Ogata, who continues to produce works with a thorough sense of speed, confident lightness, stacked layers and balance. Ogata continues to create works with a sense of thorough speed, a convinced lightness, and a balance of layered layers.

Please see the cacophony and visual noise of these three artists with such different backgrounds and styles.
The following episode of their meeting is a really good story that expresses their personalities.
GRAJOOLA" started about 15 years ago? One day around 15 years ago, Kazuma Ogata aka ZMURF, who was sitting behind NONCHELEEE who was reading relax during a boring lunch break at a boys' school, said, "I'm reading that, too! It's the best KOOL!" We got to know each other through our conversation (and love of UA), shot a skateboarding video together (or rather, a very chillin' wave video), went to a spiritual shop called "Acrylic Buddha" in an alley near the high school (from the store's mural to the outdoor unit of the air conditioner, all the background music is super KOOL, (Everything from the shop's murals to the air conditioner's outdoor unit to the background music was super KOOL, but no longer is.) ) I remember buying incense there and burning it during my lunch break in high school to relax, and I even "ate" some incense called "marijuana" for the ultimate relaxation (I still remember the crunchy texture and the cool, iron-like taste). (I still clearly remember the jarring texture and the cool, iron-like taste).
The season was just summer and relax was doing a lovers rock special, so we both had the Lovers Box Set, a 3-CD set of lovers from Trojan (reggae record label: editor's note), and we were seriously debauched with Trojan's lovers and UA's "Turbo". Yoonkee was mentioned in that issue, and since then, when we talked about dub, Yoonkee was always a big part of our mannerisms. (Whether or not you know about the early NONCHELEEE videos in full Yoonkee manner, or the Nisshin DUB STATION, the predecessor of KIVALUX, BIG UP!!!!) (For those who may or may not know about the early NONCHELEEE videos and KIVALUX's predecessor, Nisshin DUB STATION, see BIG UP at )
And in the summer of 2017, we prepared the best "GRAJOOLA" born from an unusually relaxed encounter between NONCHELEEE and Yoonkee at a party on the rooftop of a club in Seoul, immediately followed by an unusually fast CHAT with 3 people including ZMURF. Please spend a heartwarming and relaxing moment (by SLIM DICK HOSOI).
