He has worked as art director for "NIKELAB" and directed music videos for Tokyo NIKELAB, TOKYO HEALTH CLUB, and others.Yasuda, Takahirowill hold a solo exhibition of new works.
The following is a comment from Mr. Kasuga Ise, the organizer of VOILLD, the venue for the event.
Takahiro Yasuda takes a different approach each time he works with the computer as a medium. His designs, which are at once sharp and playful, simple and monotonous, and intricately layered lines and surfaces, reflect his thinking and the beauty of computer graphics (CG) in their composition. It is as if he were layering paint on a canvas, but in the framework of computer graphics, he is continually challenging himself to find a way to express his work in a material way, and even questioning us as to how it should be done.
In this exhibition, Takahiro Yasuda, while focusing on "seeing," which has been the fundamental subject of his work in recent years, has been questioning and questioning, approached how he could embody in graphic form the ambiguous presence of "presence" that he feels from his interests and influences, and produced works using new materials and printing techniques. The works were produced using new materials and printing techniques. The exhibition will feature about 10 two-dimensional works based on graphics.
And here are the words of Takahiro Yasuda himself.
Somewhere along the line, we began to be attracted to digital, formless information,
I came to accept it without any resistance.
The information now emitted from the uniform surface is like the eye of God,
And so, pretending to have an equal point of view, good and evil, truth and lies,
. approaches us as flat.
Even if it is almost impossible to capture the true identity of the caller or speaker,
People cling to that unidentifiable signal as if it were God.
Now, unknown information is hope , and speed is justice.
The same thing is happening in visual culture.
Just visuals clad in instantaneous visual signals are picked up in a huge scroll,
The words notated there, the background and intent are ignored and shared,
After a little while, a visual that I had seen somewhere before came out of nowhere,
. and also flows into a wave of scrolls that are a mixture of the real and the fake.
Even the meaning of texture has changed dramatically over the past few years.
The day is surely not far off when the whole world will be filled with flat, averaged information.
In this world of thorough averaging,
Will there be no more human will?
Even if the future is all flat and detached from the body,
Please pray for the presence and thoughts of people there.
An opening reception will be held on December 8 (Fri.) from 19:00-22:00 with the artists, followed by an after party at Nakameguro Solfa at 23:00 on the same day featuring MACKA-CHIN, DJ UPPERCUT, TOKYO HEALTH CLUB and others.
Although the text was long, I feel that it is an insightful viewpoint that relates not only to art, but also to human activities in general. I encourage you to visit the exhibition and think about this and that. Of course, it is OK to look at the works without thinking about them.
