Spingmove x Mihara Yasuhiro ¥38,000+TAX each
The men's shoe corner of Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building features a lineup of various domestic and international shoe brands ranging from sports to luxury and factory. The second "Japan Shoe Expo" will be held from October 19 (Wed.).
The Japan Shoe Expo was held for the first time last year at the department store, which aims to be the "world's most fun corner for men's shoes. The theme of the first exhibition was "shoes that the makers want to introduce to the world now," and the designers and manufacturers who attracted attention presented special shoes that exceeded the imagination. The event was well received by visitors, who said, "This is a new event where you can rediscover the true joy of shoes," and by the shoe industry, who said, "This is an interesting project that will further enliven the industry in the future.
The theme of this second edition is "Forbidden Collaboration". Kids Love Gaite" and "SUN/kakke,JOLI., ,SCOTCH GRAIN., ,[SPINGLE MOVE]., CERVINO,SOIHM.Daita Kimura, ",NAO YKOO., ,HIROSHI TSUBOUCHI., bibliotek, Inc,MIHARAYASUHIRO., ,Union Imperial, Inc.and other brands participated in this year's event, creating the "ultimate" shoes that surpassed last year's.
Kids Love Gate x Gelchop ¥400,000+TAX
Designer Shintaro Yamamoto's Kids Love Gate has collaborated with Gelchop, an up-and-coming sculptural group of three Japanese. They created shoes with customizable double-monk straps and a skeleton shoe case. The result is a pair of shoes that can be displayed in the case even when not being worn, like a piece of art.
Daita Kimura x Family ¥200,000 each + TAX
The London-based handmade shoe brand "Dai Takimura" proposes a "family" theme. The designs are full of a sense of craftsmanship, with the wife using "onion skins," the son using "LEGOs," and the daughter using "freehand drawings on leather. The design is full of craftsmanship and charm.
Nao Yokowo × Industrial waste ¥230,000+TAX
In addition, "Spingle Move" and "Yasuhiro Mihara" teamed up to produce a pair of shoes, each of which was handmade by designer Yasuhiro Mihara at Spingle Company's factory in Hiroshima, Japan. Nao Yokowo teamed up with Nakadai, an intermediate industrial waste disposal company, to produce shoes that combine three things into one: things that are used, things that are not used, and things that are no longer used. In addition, "Sankakke," a collaboration with an underground idol, and many other avant-garde and original shoes that are different from the previous "Shoe Expo" will be on display. Why don't you come and check out the designs at the store?
