This time, we would like to introduce you to hisPumaThe "SUEDE CLASSIC × MICHAEL LAU" is a collaborative model produced in honor of the 50th anniversary of SUEDE.

When I design sneakers, I don't design something that everyone will like. I think of sneakers as more of a collector's item. So I approach it like a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork."
This model was inspired by "samples" used for checking and final testing during the manufacturing process. The upper is a slightly different shade of gray for each part, reminiscent of a sample.
The foam stripes and shoe tongue are processed in a zigzag pattern to resemble the edge of a fabric sample. This is another nifty touch to create a prototype atmosphere. To further emphasize the concept, the left and right shoe tongue labels are stamped with the Chinese word "sangben," meaning sample, and the heel of the shoe is stamped with the text "SUEDE NOT FOR YOU ONLY FOR ME " text is engraved on the heel.
Although not shown in the photo, the insole is also printed with the style name, part number, color code, factory code, and other forms that the factory fills in when identifying samples. It is very elaborate.
This pair of shoes is the culmination of many efforts to bring the concept to life, and will go on sale on January 20 (Sat).
