Starting with the Spring/Summer 2018 season, Lucy and Luke Meyer have been named Creative Directors of the new <Jil Sander〉. I introduced it just a few days ago.ProjectFollowing the "Mere Old Man," we have received another report on a new initiative.
The campaign movie was shot by Wim Wenders, a master of the film world known for such masterpieces as "Paris, Texas" and "Berlin: The Angel's Poem". Moreover, Wim Wenders used a paused scene from the movie for this season's campaign visuals. This seems to be the brand's first attempt to team up with a world-famous film director, and the anticipation is only growing. Please take a look at the trailer first.
2018 Campaign Trailer

This campaign movie is a digest version of five different scenarios. Who is the woman standing in front of the elevator waiting for? What is the situation where a woman is staring at a man in a wetsuit coming up from the lake? The film is so meaningful and changes so quickly that it is easy to forget that it is a campaign movie for a fashion brand.

Although our eyes may focus only on the content of the movie, we can also carefully check the details that reside in the garment. Movies are very effective as a tool to complement the attractiveness of clothes that cannot be picked up with still images, such as the silhouette and movement of fabrics when viewed from multiple angles.
Episode 1
Episode2
Incidentally, only Episodes 1 and 2 have been released at this time. The woman in the shocking pink knit that appears at the beginning of the latter reminds me of Travis' wife Jane in "Paris, Texas". Episode 3 and after will be uploaded irregularly during this season, so you will have to keep checking the official website of "Jil Sander.
Perhaps the clue to unlocking the new Jil Sander collection can be found in this movie series.
