This is a monthly Series. The guest for the 10th installment is Daisuke Ohana. This Jeep® articleIn the "N. Hollywood" article, he talks about his rich "digging" life from various angles, including his journey as a designer of N. Hollywood, his origins in vintage clothing, the hot springs he enjoys as his life's work, and episodes related to his car.

Daisuke Ohana / N. Hollywood Designer
. Born in Kanagawa Prefecture. After working as a vintage clothing buyer at the now-defunct "Go Getter" store, he opened the "Mr. Hollywood" store in 2000 and established the brand "N. Hollywood" in 2001. He has been presenting his creations at the New York Collections since the Spring/Summer 2011.
What are the items that connect Mr. Ohana's lifestyle and his car? He says, "My car is naturally loaded with items that reflect my character and my life," and we invite you to view his many items that are both logical and witty.

Blanket "Calvin Klein×PENDLETON" and several others
. we always have at least two in the car. I use them when my family naps while driving, or lay them out on the ground in the park. Blankets are useful for everything, so I would say they are a must-have. This Calvin Klein was made after Ruff ( and Simmons ). . I bought two of them in New York because I thought they had a great vibe indeed."

Towel "N.HOOLYWOOD EXCHANGE SERVICE × HIPPOPOTAMUS
. "At first, I made it with the intention of using it for hot springs, but now I use it in all kinds of everyday situations, such as when I go somewhere in a flash. . This is a new product that will be released in February, and the fabric has been further improved from the previous version to improve drainage and feel. We will also be releasing a new color, coyote, which, like olive, has actually been officially adopted by the U.S. military.

FM transmitter "ROIDMI
I like this transmitter because it is compact and easy to use, while most transmitters that can be recharged via USB and connected to Bluetooth® are exaggerated in appearance. The LED lights that emit light inside are available in several different colors, but I have mine set to an orange light that matches the lighting of my old car."

pH meter and thermometer for hot springs
." "Nowadays, I always have a set of spring quality data. Recently, there are many hot springs that have a list of the qualities of the springs, so the pH meter is not used as often as it should be, but I have been using the thermometer ever since I started writing a series of articles for UOMO magazine to prevent burns when I enter a hot spring. By the way, my personal favorite temperature is 36°C. Nowadays, when I measure the temperature at a place where I think, 'Oh, I like this hot water,' the temperature is usually 36°C."

Lightweight tote bag "IKEA", etc.
. well, it's convenient, isn't it? Anyway, I keep it in my car and use it to carry my stuff when I do a quick shopping trip, etc. . The white one is from a store in L.A. that publishes a slightly different trash art and magazine. I like the jokey design."

Micro Chair "ADIRONDACK
A&F's original brand of lightweight stools that can be easily unfolded or folded with a single touch. . It makes all the difference in an emergency whether you have these items on board or not. They don't take up much space and are really convenient.

Car diffuser "diptyque
I'm not a big fan of air fresheners, but this one is easy to put on when I feel a certain smell, and the subtle smell is just right even if you just leave it on the table. I also think it looks classic and cute."

slips of paper posted on shrine pillars by pilgrims
I only put them up at inns and bathhouses that I feel are really nice, and only if they agree to do so after consulting with me. It is easy to ask for permission when I am covering a story, but when I am in my private time, it is extremely difficult to ask for permission (laughs).

Tissue case "PORTER
I always thought that carrying a box of tissues in the car was a little too much like living in a car, but then I received this novelty tissue case from Yoshida Kaban. I use it casually in the back seat pocket, but it is so convenient that I received two more tissue cases (laughs). I really wish they would sell them.

Sandals "Chaco
Chaco with its thick sole is especially useful in hard situations, such as in a secluded hot spring in the mountains. I once had a hair-raising experience when I entered a secluded hot spring surrounded by nature barefoot, and when I looked closely, I saw that the entire bottom of the water was filled with leeches. Such things can happen in nature, so you have to be very careful when entering the water.

Flashlight "MAG-LITE
. "This is an American police maglite that can also be used as a baton. Although I don't use it often, it is one of the items I always have with me in case of emergencies.

Boston bag "MHW MOUNTAIN HARDWEAR SPECIALLY FOR N.HOOLYWOOD
This Boston is from last season and is the perfect size for a one- or two-night trip for a family of three , with a shoulder strap. The zipper line in the middle is rounded like a dumpling, so it opens smoothly and has a large opening area. The large handles on both sides make it easy to carry even slightly heavy items. I am proud that we were able to create a masterpiece that can be used for both town and outdoor use.
