Product designer at the Omotesando, Tokyo, branch of [Sunspel],Reiko Kanekowill hold a pop-up event starting April 21 (Sat). Kaneko, who has an English mother and a Japanese father, graduated from the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and started her own eponymous brand last year. His porcelain with its uniquely beautiful forms and striking use of color has quickly attracted attention.
For the Spring/Summer 2018 collection of 〈Sunspell〉, Kaneko selected seasonal colors inspired by the delicate colors of Kaneko's pottery. With this background, several types of vases and jugs were sold at this pop-up event.
The ceramics are glazed with a unique coloring that is reminiscent of the English landscape. You can also feel the warmth of each piece being handmade. Since there are no shops in Japan that carry them, this is a great opportunity to check them out.
