Located about 3 hours by car from downtown Sapporo, Biei-cho is a popular tourist destination in the center of Hokkaido with its lush green nature. The town has long been a popular spot for mountain stream fishing, attracting many visitors from outside of Hokkaido, and in recent years, it has become known as the home of Aoi Ike, a famous sightseeing spot where the surface of the water looks blue.
A new hamburger store "BETWEEN THE BREAD" opened in Biei-cho's new roadside station, Biei Shirogane Birke. At the same time, "THE NORTH FACE Corner" of the outdoor brand "THE NORTH FACE" has also opened in Biei Shirogane Birke.
Both stores were newly created following the renovation of the existing "Shirogane Birke Forest Information Center". BETWEEN THE BREAD is a hamburger store located in a natural setting surrounded by the majestic Daisetsuzan mountain range. The burgers are freshly made using ingredients from Biei-cho, which has clean water and air, and are served in a takeout style. The restaurant has a spacious eat-in space with 30 seats inside and 40 seats outside on a terrace surrounded by a forest, where you can relax and enjoy your time. Milk, soft-serve ice cream, and yogurt made from raw milk from cows raised freely on the Biei Farm are also available for purchase.
Biei Shirogane Birke THE NORTH FACE Corner" is an outdoor store surrounded by the rich nature of Biei-cho, Hokkaido, the gate city to Tokachi-dake, the main peak of the Tokachi-dake Federation in Daisetsuzan National Park. The shop mainly offers high-quality, high-performance clothing and goods, and proposes outdoor sports styles for each of the four seasons in Biei. They will also offer events and experience tours of outdoor activities in the fields near Biei-cho.
