The barrels used to age Jameson whiskey were sent to Tokyo to age two internationally acclaimed "Devil Craft" craft beers, Imperial Stout and Imperial Rye Brown Ale, in separate barrels to produce a limited quantity of barrel-aged Beer is produced. The empty beer aging barrels are then sent back to the distillery in Ireland, where they are used to finish (post-age) the Jameson whiskey and blend it.
The result, they say, is a special taste of mild hops, roasted coffee, and the spiciness of cloves.
