Anthony Vaccarello is the man behindSAINT LAURENTThe first stand-alone men's runway show since he became creative director of the brand was held on June 6 at 9 p.m. (CET, June 7 at 10 a.m.).
Vaccarello moved from Paris to New York City to present his collection. The glittering runway show was linked to the skyscrapers of buildings seen from Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
The Spring/Summer 2019 collection was especially shaped in the tradition of Saint Laurent's recent style, with a mix of tight tailored jackets, suede blousons, ethnic motif scarves, and occasional western-inspired items. While other maisons have been incorporating street tastes into their collections, Saint Laurent has faced the brand's history and the expectations of those around it, and presented a strong runway show that did not waver from its core values.
Models included Lennon Gallagher, son of Liam Gallagher of Oasis, who also appeared in an ad campaign for " Saint Laurent. Also in the audience were stars such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kate Moss, Julianne Moore, Vincent Gallo, and Travis Scott.
Saint Laurent has taken a new direction by presenting a collection of men's creations only. We will keep an eye on the future trends of the brand.
