Photographer Osamu Matsuo is working on the subject of his hometown of Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture.Sasebo Project". Through the publication of four collections of photographs, we have explored through photography the different aspects hidden in Sasebo, the westernmost city on Kyushu Island, known for its military port and shipbuilding industry.
The photo exhibition of "17," the fourth photo collection of the Sasebo Project, will be held in Sasebo, the setting of the work. In addition to the exhibition of works by 76 pairs of 17-year-olds living in Sasebo in 2017 that were included in the book, a talk event by the artists themselves will be held during the exhibition period.
Born and raised in Sasebo and based in Tokyo, Sasebo Project has been expressing the sense of discomfort they feel now that they are based in Tokyo, in the form of a photo collection. This is a unique opportunity to share that sense of discomfort. Please come and visit us.
