Compared to 10 years ago, the situation surrounding music has changed dramatically. In what places and in what forms do musicians deliver their sounds to listeners?
For example, a six-piece jazz band from Melbourne, Australia, calledThe LagerphonesHe is also a drummer. The drummer has toured with James Chance and the trombonist has won the National Jazz Award, the largest jazz competition in Australia. On the other hand, they usually perform in an open pub. Customers enjoy their performances in the daytime with a beer in hand. In order to recreate this atmosphere in Japan, Vaughan, the tour organizer, transforms unique venues into their live performances each time.
This year will be their fourth tour in Japan. They will be performing 15 shows in 15 days with their newly produced album, which they call "The 4th Party". They will also be performing in Kansai for the first time.
Once again, the tour schedule included a variety of locations such as the hostel NUI, the furniture store TRUCK FURNITURE, coffee shops, and traditional Japanese inns. Another feature of the festival is that 13 of the 15 live performances on the schedule are free of charge. You will be able to feel the atmosphere of Melbourne, the city of jazz, in Japan. It is not unusual for audience members to become friends with the band members and come back a second or third time to listen to a performance.

The traditional instruments play traditional jazz, tango, and blues. Their energetic music is meant to be sung and danced to. The first Japanese word they learned was "hangover," and their performance with a beer in their hand embodies what it means to live with music.
