Gucci has collaborated with Comme des Garçons. The two brands have collaborated to create products that fuse their design codes in intelligent and unexpected ways.
This tote bag is one of Comme des Garcons' efforts to launch a holiday collection in collaboration with nine brands and designers, including Gucci, Burberry, Maison Margiela, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
This special item is based on a Comme des Garçons bag customized with Gucci's green, red, and green web stripes in a vertical pattern. Brown kraft paper coated with a unique vinyl "shell" is embellished with Gucci's web stripes, which tell the story of the artisan's history and association with the equestrian world.
Comme des Garcons specializes in a minimalist, design-driven approach, while Gucci has an eclectic and decorative style. The result is a made in Japan item that combines the codes that represent the two brands.
It has already been on sale worldwide in Japan since November 23, and will be available at COMME des GARÇONS stores and Dover Street Market overseas from December 6. Be sure to pick one up as a Christmas gift!
