【FOCUS IT.] The Landscapers, which presents a new way to enjoy plants, is currently holding a pop-up at 1LDK in Nakameguro!

It is generally believed that women are more likely to love flowers and plants, but the Kamakurayama-based botanical brand <THE LANDSCAPERS. is not limited to the products that are produced by the "Mere Old Man.

The Landscapers" is a brand that continues to take a fresh approach in its creations to overturn a certain one-dimensional image of plants as dusty and natural.

The select store "1LDK" has focused on this new perspective. A large-scale pop-up store, which is unprecedented for a store, is being held in Nakameguro.

HOUYHNHNM's visited the pop-up store as it was being prepared and spoke with Masaki Hanawa of "The Landscapers" and Ryo Miyoshi, director of "1LDK".

When I heard about The Landscapers from one of our staff members and saw the products, I thought, 'I love it! I decided to pop up immediately.

. I was very grateful for the offer. We want to showcase our products in a way that is a little different from stores that generally deal with plants, since we create something unique using plants as a base. In this context, it is a rare opportunity to have a pop-up at a store like 1LDK, where we can share the brand's world view.

The brand's flagship product is the PLANTAHOLIC. While there are generally "herbarium" products, which are jars filled with oil and filled with dried or preserved flowers, "The Landscapers" takes a unique approach.

I didn't want to make something pretty in the first place . So I was very careful about the type and color of the dried flowers, and I also created a base for the soil in the jar, since plants grow from the soil," Hanawa said.

As you can see, this is a product that looks great as a stand-alone item, but also makes you want to place more than one of them in your interior. Hanawa's sense of style is unique, as he was once employed by an apparel company.

There are a number of brands and stores dealing with plants in the fashion industry these days, and they are easy to get into. The prices, starting at 4,000 yen, are just right.

Certainly, the price is reasonable for the time and effort that goes into making each item. Moreover, each piece is different from the next, making it a pleasure to choose from a wide variety.

Since it is bottled, if it is not made properly when it is turned upside down, it will collapse. For this reason, there is a branch in the bottle, which holds the "soil" underneath.

We value the sense of mismatch when inorganic objects and organic plants are combined, and in this case, the key point is the imbalance of placing the plants on the mortar.

This is a Columbus' egg-like product, in that it dares to use dried flowers upside down, which was the norm to bundle them upside down.

. after all, it is natural for plants to grow out of the earth , and toward the heavens, isn't it? People often ask me, "Don't you have to water them? I am often asked if I don't have to water the plants, but I don't have to (laughs). It doesn't take much time or effort.

As living organisms, growing plants requires a certain amount of effort and interest. . Many people may be interested, but shy away from it at that stage.

. I think you should start with dried flowers. There are people who cannot grow fresh flowers in their environment. For example, they do not get enough sunlight or they are often away from home. So I think it would be a good idea to start with products like these that don't require a lot of work and can be placed in the room to get people interested in plants.

This attitude, which is always open-minded, is truly unique. The Landscapers' items are apparently well accepted by many city dwellers, perhaps because of this open-mindedness.

, and with this pop-up, we have also taken the opportunity to launch an apparel line in earnest. The T-shirts that marked the beginning of this line have been introduced in the past in HOUYHNHNM.

T-shirts are the next step for The Landscapers, a green brand originating from Kamakura Mountain.

The collection was launched as one of the expressions of a reasonable approach, while keeping botanicals at the core of the collection.

. I started this project by picking up nuts and branches, photographing them, processing them, and making them into a logo. . Although I used to be in the apparel business, we did not intend to make an item that was particular about the fabric. All we cared about was to add a little extra effort other than putting the graphics on the fabric. The Landscapers" originally uses plants found in the natural world to make its products, and this is a kind of customization and remaking. That is the key point of the brand, so we paid attention to that point when we made the apparel.

Therefore, we have put little touches such as thimble holes in the sweatshirts and a batch on the coach jackets. . by the way, they are not for gardening or anything like that, so don't worry.

For a detailed description of the product,1LDK" blog here.. . This is again very intricate, and the content is a labor of love.

The Landscapers" has been expanding its hands into various creations while keeping its focus on botanicals. Holding a pop-up at a store like "1LDK," which mainly deals with apparel, would be a good opportunity to connect fashion and botanicals, which have been somewhat divided, in a positive way.

The pop-up will be open until Monday, the 24th. Please take a look at the botanical items created by "The Landscapers" with a new sensibility.
