Gucci.'s 2019 Cruise Collection was presented at Alyscamps in Arles, France. Alyscamps is one of the famous Roman ruins and is known for being the subject of Van Gogh and Gauguin.
The Cruz Collection is inspired by the serenity of the crypts where cardinals and monks sleep, and by the exquisite plastic arts that are the source of that serenity.
Creative Director Alessandro Michele says - everything related to the afterlife embodies the ultimate beauty.
Various motifs appear each season, and this season a bold graphic font inspired by heavy metal has been added.
Decadent lyrics and distorted electric sounds. Heavy metal has the smell of death. It was the perfect genre for Michele's Cruise Collection to express the worldview that she was so tightly aligned with.
