ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE III "HIKESHI HANTEN" for KICKS LAB. ¥17,000+TAX
Sneakers that combine functionality nurtured over a long history with modern design are attracting attention not only overseas but also here in Japan.ASICS Tiger(〉). We often hear from actual users that they are easy to wear and match.
This time, a collaboration project based on the "GEL-LYTE III" has been named "HIKESHI HANTEN" and this special sneaker has been created with the world's leading premium sneaker boutique, KICKS LAB. and Japanese artist "sneakerwolf". and Japanese artist sneakerwolf.
The GEL-LYTE III is based on a running shoe released in 1990. The most distinctive feature of this shoe is its unique "split tongue" construction, which integrates the tongue and ankle into a single piece, and then divides the shoe vertically into two large sections to wrap around the instep and fit the wearer's feet.
As the name suggests, this product is based on the theme of firefighters of the Edo period (1603-1867), and combines the three basic colors of the "firefighter hanten" uniform: dark navy, vermilion red, and white. The upper is made of the actual "hanten" (fireman's coat). The upper is made of cotton plain weave fabric, just like the actual "Hi-kajiri Hanten".
The soles and "split tongue" are made of clear rubber, and the signature "sneakerwolf" style "KANJI-GRAPHY" is used to express the letters "KICKS LAB. KICKS LAB." in the signature "Kanji-Graphy" style of "wolf". This is a unique design that is in the style of the Edo script, but is actually a combination of letters of the alphabet. The insoles are printed with a graphic image of a tiger and a dragon, symbols of the "iki" of the manly men of the Edo period, such as fire extinguishers, steeplejacks, and flying boats. This special model is filled with "sneakerwolf"'s attention to detail.
They will go on sale from December 10 (Sat.) at ASICS Tiger directly-managed stores (Osaka Shinsaibashi store, POP-UP STORE) in Onitsuka Tiger Daikanyama store, "KICKS LAB.", sneaker specialty stores, etc.).
As I keep saying, they are highly functional sneakers. And the elegant and exquisite coloring created by the combination of iron plates is an ideal pair. You have to wear them to understand how good they are. Try them for yourself.
